My Story
Born in Wangjing Sorokhaibam Leikai in Thoubal District, Manipur, India, Rajiv is a self-taught painter in all genres. In addition to being a passionate painter, he is also a much loved teacher, musician, composer, lyricist and a singer.

Under Rajiv’s leadership, an annual residential painting camp is organized for school going children during holidays. Called the “BRAIN-DRAIN EXPOSIA” and organized under IRE, Wangjing, this camp aims to interest children on art in their formative years. Rajiv is also planning to open his own art gallery in the near future

1973 –
With his first solo art exhibition in 1992-93, Rajiv has come a long way in expounding his self taught skills as an artist. 1999 saw Rajiv’s second exhibition, organised by GOI where he was recognised as an artist of prominence. The third exhibition also saw him organise the first BRAIN-DRAIN EXPOSIA, which is a art camp for school students organised during holidays which continue to date.

Rajiv grew in a music-loving family, where his father was a classical singer. Rajiv trained in both Tabla and Vocal at Manipur Music College. Along with his passion for playing the tabla, he also composed many songs of his own during the late 1990’s. He has composed over 15 songs and his audio album “Houkhiba Punshi” was released in 2001. He practices his music today for peace of mind.
